why just implement a paid subscription service? (monthly, yearly, etc.). I would gladly pay a small monthly fee to keep the tool updated. The subscription model is pretty much a de facto business standard today. You can't even buy products like MS365 or any streaming service without an ongoing fee. Why not do this to gain a consistent source of revenue to pay for the servers, maintenance, etc.?

If people are not willing to pay for ongoing support, then they won't get any updates.

Just a thought.
