Specifically about the very, very long list of "Uncredited" cast members.

Has any of this been verified at all?

Nice can of worms!

Uncredited at one time did not have to be verified in the IVS database, and decision was made at a certain time that all existing "uncredited" were confirmed, and documentation was required to removal.

Depending on which AtWi80D you are referring to that could be case here.

As far as the move of uncredited from IVS to Invelos in the mass of original contributions, I am not sure of the situation, if it has been confirmed by Ken or Gerri?

I would apply the old IVS standard to this, Ken made an announcement in July 2005, that (uncredited) was OK but not IMDb.<paraphrased> It is known that he also wants (uncredited) data, he considers it valuable data, taking that into account, any title released before his announcement, which would cover this title, is grandfathered in as accurate, after the announcememt we must provide documentation to include new uncredited data or remove existing uncredited data.

Ken also said at that time or shortly after that we should not remove cast just because we 'suspect' it might have come from IMDb (or words t that effect).

No, that is not basically what you said.  My point is that uncredited cast should not be removed (grandfathered or not) just because you suspect that it came from IMDb.  What you said had nothing to do with IMDb.

You set yourself up so I have to say it...no data existed prior to July 2005.  Every single profile in the Invelos database was created on or after March 13, 2007.

Seriously though we have to look at it that way.  I have quite a few profiles with uncredited cast from the old IVS database.  Can I now throw that into the Invelos DB because that profile existed before July 2005?  Of course not.  Any change, whether to add or remove, must be documented.  There is no longer a magic date.

I would agree, but I would like to see a concrete clarification on this from Ken/Gerri, otherwise the date-quoters will keep bringing it up.

That was why I specified the OLD IVS standard, Unicus. If Ken wants us to do something different, then he needs to tell us. I understand the point you are making, but at the same time we KNOW Ken's feeling about (uncredited) data, so applying the old standard seems reasonable, else we will be stripping out a lot of old data.

The new db actually makes this a whole lot easier and we shouldn't be stripping out any old data.  ANY change, to add or remove ANY data, must be documented.  That means if it is already there it stays.  If it isn't there, it can't be added without documentation.  No need for dates or grandfathers or anything else.

IMO, with the launch of Invelos, we have been given the one-time opportunity to rid the online once and for all of all erronous uncredited data.

We should embrace this opportunity and remove ALL uncredited data that can not be confirmed by whoever submits it.

If in this process some uncredited actors that actually CAN be confirmed get washed out as well, it's a lot easier to re-add these with proper documentation again.

IMO this would improve the accuracy of the online db a lot.

Unfortunately, judging from the contributions in the past couple of weeks, this POV does not seem to be shared by too many users

That point of view is not shared by users because it's contrary to the rules and what Ken wants.

Well, I fail to see the logic behind allowing unconfirmed data entered into IVS's db before a certain date into Invelos db and rebuking unconfirmed data entered into IVS's db after that date with regard to accuracy (apart from any copyright issues, that's not the subject here for me).

As far as the rules go, they don't require any documentation for uncredited actors (at least not in the Cast section of the Invelos Contribution rules). According to the rules, you can enter pretty much anybody into a profile's cast list....

Without any comments from Ken the only thing I can fall back on that seems REASONALBLE is Ken's known wishes and his July 2005 statement. If he wants to come here and tell us start with a clean slate then have at it, but otherwise I would still say per July 2005 leave it alone.
