| Posted: | | | | How should we be handling Complete series TV Sets like "Buffy Choosen Collection", "Friends: The One with All Ten Seasons", "M*A*S*H: The Martinis & Medicine Collection".
Originally Buffy The Choosen Collection was setup like a box set added by the first disc ID of each season since there was no UPC for each season included in the box. Currently it can not be contributed that way since every disc from all seasons have already been contributed.
Friends: The One with All Ten Seasons is set up like a box set with each season added by UPC.
M*A*S*H: The Martinis & Medicine Collection is setup like a box set with each disc in the set is contributed. | | | Are you local? This is a local shop the strangers you would bring would not understand us, our customs, our local ways. |

| Posted: | | | | If we are following the rules, there is only one answer...Box Set Profile with each season as a child, cast and crew for each episode added to the season child profile.
This is the problem I said was going to come up when people started profiling each and every disc in a set. We don't have 'box set within a box set' capabilities so these series sets are going to be screwed up. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. I have the Seinfeld S1, 2 & 3 gift set setup as follows Seinfeld The Complete First, Second and Third Seasons - Seinfeld Seasons 1 & 2 - Disc 1 Season 1 Episodes 1-5 - Disc 2 Season 2 Episodes 1-5 - Disc 3 Season 2 Episodes 6-10 - Disc 4 Season 2 Episodes 11-13 - Seinfeld Season 3 - Disc 1 Season 3 Episodes 1-5 - Disc 2 Season 3 Episodes 6-10 - Disc 3 Season 3 Episodes 11-16 - Disc 4 Season 3 Episodes 17-22 You can do amazing things currently with the sort title. Of course, it would klook better if the program could do sets in sets... Ken? | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... | | | Last edited: by NewEnglander |

| Posted: | | | | There will be problems with Sets like Buffy The Choosen Collection is the Discs are the same as the ones included in the season sets. Plus the individual seasons have no UPC for each season, so we can only use disc IDs. The only way around this I can think of is using the exising child profiles for each disc and add them to the complete series set profile. | | | Are you local? Skip Yes but how do you handle a grand child when there is no UPC for the child, only the parent? | | | Are you local? This is a local shop the strangers you would bring would not understand us, our customs, our local ways. |

Disc ID The disc ID can only be used once, and with no UPC on the individual seasons within the master box the first disc ID of each season would be needed for the child profile - making it unavailable any grandchildren profiles. And for the record, unless I missed something, there has been no official indication that grandchildren profiles are coming, so that statement should be taken with a pinch of 2.6.0alpha salt! | | | Andy

You want to create a child for ONLY each season in a mult-season set. So, for Stargate SG-1 you'd end up with a master and ten (series is over with tenth season) child profiles. Now, each one of those child profiles will have cast and crew data for 20-22 episodes. Is that right?
You people are insane! Who in their right mind wants to wade through a cast list that is nine miles long looking for one entry to correct, or even just to look up? | | | John

Huh??? Did you not read the Poll up top? The majority choice is to do a child profile for each season - ie. say 10 for Stargate SG-1. Now, with roughly 20 episodes per season, that means dumping the cast and crew from 200 episodes into just 10 child profiles. Do YOU want to wade through that mess looking for something? I sure don't. Doing a child for each disc is a pain as well, but at least when you're done you've only got maybe 4 or 5 episodes per disc to go through. And it's a lot easier to jump to another profile if you don't get the right one off the top. | | | John

Until then we wait, we've done that before, some of us more patiently than others. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

And, as somebody pointed out, you can easily differentiate the discs by title, and the ensuing data is a lot easier to deal with when its only for one disc's worth, than it is for 5, or 7, or 10, etc. | | | John
