| Posted: | | | | Hi, A little question...(after having contribution problems)
When you create a new profile for DVDProfiler, what source is allowed to use when maintaining cast and crew?

All taken from End Credits, and sometimes a few names from the beginning of the film if they don't appear in the end credits.

Keep them groomed and fed at least once a week . But not after midnight. And whatever you do, don't let them make long-distance phone calls. They just go for the pron. |

| Posted: | | | | I must LOL. Thanks for all your replies. I have sat down and gone completely through the rules. That gave some entlightment. I really thought that a simple thing as a credit list or cast list for a movie in term was a mainstream free information (since it is posted everywhere). It is harder to understand that reading and typing cast and crew names off of my own DVD to DVDprofiler and reading and typing off of another source from the internet to DVDprofiler is not the legally the same even though the end result should be the same. Anyway, I sure don't want to bend any rules here. Thanks for guiding me to the path of light |

You'll be surprised how often the end result is not even close to being the same. | | | "Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men" - Douglas Bader "A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools." - Douglas Adams |

Anyway, I sure don't want to bend any rules here. Thanks for guiding me to the path of light But don't forget that it is possible to have a really correct cast and crew list (which can be different of what is on the DVD), especially for old movies with very short credit list. And as it is a pain to explain where you find an uncredited actor (screen caps, time stamp... ), you just keep it for you and do not contribute. The more strict rules become, the less contributors will be. Probably a good thing in some places (zone1, which I do not know, but where people complained about ping pong contributions), and a bad thing in other places where contributors are not so many... | | | Images from movies |
