| Posted: | | | | I like the maiden name idea. But only for actresses who began their career before marriage.
While all these polls about individual names can't give us any generalized rule directly, they are the basis for discussion where to go and what problems we have to solve. But I don't think that 3 actresses names are enough experience for a definitive answer. |

Sorry, but I'm sure there are plenty of actresses who started their careers under their maiden name and nobody ever heard of them until much later in their careers AFTER they had become well known and AFTER they had been married (at least once). Using maiden name for these women will be useless, as nobody will connect their maiden name to their current name, especially if they have completely dropped their maiden name. As much as I'd like to see a single Rule for Actresses who have married/re-married, I don't think it's gonna work. Why can't we all just sit back and wait to see what Ken comes up with instead of starting all these useless threads which settle nothing and will all become moot when Ken gives us his "Invelos Acotr Database of Common Names"? | | | Hal |

That is a good idea EXCEPT people are already entering 'common names' into the db. I would love to wait for Ken to give us the search feature that he mentioned so we have some objective starting point...problem is, not everybody has the same feeling. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. I agree 100%. I understand and agree with Unicus's concerns, but I just think we have try to encourage those people to stop, and if they don't some may have to be changed later. If we continue down the road that some seem to be advocating with all these specific threads we will end up with pages and pages of rules for common name. If the name is like this, then..., if it's like that then.... on and on and on. Lets wait for Ken. | | | Andy

I know. I think it's a total waste of time.....for now. All of this is a total waste of time. But we just can't stop ourselves!
