| Posted: | | | | Quoting DrNick: Quote: Most dvd collectors (including myself) do not only "own", "order" and "wish" to have dvds - from time to time you like to sell or swap some dvds you do not need anymore.
From dvd forums, I know a lot of people who "abuse" the wish list or the list of ordered dvds for the purpose of showing potential buyers the dvds they want to sell. Wouldn't it be possible to add a fourth tab ("for sale" or something like that) to the profiler? I guess, most users of the "DVD profiler" would appreciate such a feature. Though not exactly what you want, I incorporated your idea into DVDProfileLoop 1.3 plugin. There is a sample .BAT file that produces the contents of an HTML window listing all DVDs tagged "For Sale". It's easy to customize, and becuase HTML sections can be docked, they appear almost like a tab. If you try it and have issues, let me know. Maybe you can use it until we get a customizable tab, which I also think is a neat idea. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Every now and then somebody asks for a new tab ("for sale", "sold", "netflicks" etc). I propose that you should be able to configure your own set of tabs. Every tab could have its own name and you could define with an option if a tab should have a collection number, purchase date, wish list priority etc. |

For example, I currently use Ordered for titles that I've ordered, as well as the titles that are coming out that week. I use the Wishlist only for titles that are already released. If I had the extra tab, it would be for Upcoming Releases (so that I would use Ordered only for those titles actually ordred). |

| Posted: | | | | How about using the Tag system, that will serve you just as effectively as a Tab.

| Posted: | | | | I too have been wanting this for a long time (Customizable Lists). I would like to especially keep separate kinds of Want Lists, Doubles List (for trading), Separate list for Hi-Def Media (Blu-Ray & HD-DVD). Etc.. And no I don't want to have to load separate database files or just rely on tags, that's what I use now and I find it inadequate when i want to view each list independent of another, by what could be just clicking a different tab. I think it would add greatly to the flexibility and power of DVD Profiler and is a long overdue feature. Ken, please consider this. Thanks. (edit: grammar) | | | Last edited: by onthejazz |

If we had customizable tab(s): (1) How would profiles get assigned to the tabs? (By filter, tag, flag, drag and drop?) (2) Could / should profiles exist in more than one tab (somebody mentioned "move", that's why I ask) (3) Would the tab need to be dynamic, or could it be static with a "refresh" (e.g. "Copy All Flagged to Tab="For Sale") (4) Should the displayed profile change when a profile is selected in a selected custom tab? Would it matter if that required the selected profile in the main collection to change also? (5) What happens if the selected profile has been filtered out of the main collection tab? Is it Ok to clear filters in order to display the profile? I have been playing with some plugin ideas. Would a plugin be acceptable / desirable? It would clearly not be able to duplicate anywhere near the features of the main collection/filters/tags window - would it still be worth the effort? | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | I call my stack of discs I no longer want which are up for trade or sale the "Chopping Block", so I'd love to have a custom tab or 2. I also like Doombear's idea of "previously owned" although I bet some titles/versions I couldn't even find in the database. I've been victim of many an upgrade and feel like an expert on some titles like Hellraiser 3 and Boondock Saints which I've owned many versions of but now only 1 or 2. |

| Posted: | | | | I'm about 70% done with a "MyTabs" plugin. I didn't get any response to my prior post asking for guidance, so I'm winging it. Here is the M.O. I chose:
- MyTabs is managed as a hosted dockable window, just like an HTML section - You can define as many tabs as you want to display in the window - All tabs have Title, ProfileID plus 2 custom fields - you decide from any database field - Each tab can have an associated filter - Filters are created and saved from the main collections tab - MyTabs persist across sessions, but you can shut them off - As an option, when you select a profile from a MyTabs tab, the DVD is also selected in the main collection - You can copy flags from a tab to the main collection | | | Thanks for your support.
