As I remember it, the proper sequence should be as follows:

V: The Miniseries
V: The Series
V: The Final Battle

That's the way it was originally shown on TV back when.

Actually, it was:

V: The Miniseries
V: The Final Battle (the second miniseries where the human/alien child is born)
V: The Series (which ends with the child as a young adult)

The Miniseries ends with them sending out a radio signal to the aliens enemy hoping that they get it. You also find out towards the end that the girl is pregnant by the alien but the child isn't born until sometime during the series.

Which means yet again you American's aren't getting the full picture, over here in the UK if I remember correctly the child was born and grew up...they left the series hanging over here with the girl aged in her early teens.

I have this on my wish list but have been holding off, waiting for the FULL item to be released.

O.T.
But then its like a made for TV film I watched last night "Final Approach" staring Dean Cain according to your favourite movie website that never gets it wrong its first showing won't be until April 6 2008, yet it's now been on twice here in the UK.

Read my post again.  I said the T.V. Series ended with the child as a young adult...read teenager.  And, yes, they left it hanging here as well.  I believe she was going to meet the leader of the 'Visitors', but it wasn't picked up for another season.  I hate when series end like that.

Sorry Unicus69

Did read your post...brain wasn't working properly, I think we went beyond her meeting the leader of the Visitor's, if memory serves correct something about the resistance blowing up the Mothership whilst in transit with the Earth/Alien hybrid girl on the way to the Alien home world.

You may want to watch the series again. Unicus is correct.

I just had a PM exchange with Snarbo.  According to him, they (the UK) had 20 episodes while we (the US) had 19.  My collection ends with the episode titled "The Return" while the UK series ended with and episode titled "The Attack".

I haven't watched it in a while so I can't remember whether or not "The Return" was a 'double length' episode or if we just didn't see "The Attack".  I am in the middle of rewatching 'Alien Nation'... so that I can watch the films that were just release...so I won't have time to check just now.  If anybody knows, please fill us in.

I always thought "The Attack" was never even filmed.  There's a synopsis of the script here  and some spoiler-filled
discussion of it here.

I will admit that I had never even heard of it until Snarbo mentioned it to me.  From what he tells me, it did air in the UK.  Beyond that, I know nothing else.

Certainly the DVD ends with the Return and the need for a concluding episode. As per Tarf's post this is the only place I can find any mention and they state it was never filmed.

According to the forum post there one of the UK satellite channels ran the series and ended with The Return, so I'm fairly certain it wasn't filmed.

If you look at what Steve's remembered in his last post here that bears no relation to the synopsis and is in fact a slight corruption of the events in the Return, with the Visitors plotting to blow up the ship on the journey home.

No the synopsis says it was never Aired not never filmed, as it includes the quest actors/roles they played.

The UK satellite channel airing was from the resulting DVD's as no other material is commercial available which is why the DVD set only show 19 episodes, I think you will find (US based companies again).

I really think you are misremembering this.

Trawling through the webring linked off from the site I find sites stating unfilmed. Even if they couldn't show it they wouldn't destroy it, and that would mean bootleg copies would be floating around out there.

There is also no reason to not make it available to countries outside the US as part of the package.

How would there be 'Bootleg' copies around we are talking about a programme made and filmed / shown twenty plus years ago the NET wasn't that fast then or was IDSN available before the mid ninties to everybody.

It could very easily be a bootleg VHS format tape.  Most of the bootlegs I've run across on VHS were made by somebody filming the content on either a TV or movie screen, and then transferring it to tape.  Quality is usually god-awful, but I guess some people will do anything to get a copy of certain things.  I've also seen some that were made from studio masters that are as good as commercial VHS movies.  I would imagine one of them would take somebody on the inside to get access to a master.

Point taken John, but we here in the UK didn't know that not all episodes where not being shown else where.

As I have said to Nick via PM's at the time I recorded them for my own use, due to the hours I was working then couldn't watch it live...but have since used the tapes to record something else, oh how I now rue the day I did that.

As a point to show that everything that can ve read on the Internet is not gosple.

Friday 13th September on Sky One a UK satellite channel screened (for the second time in the space of a fortnight
'Final Approach' starring Dean Cain
if you do a google search on this title every site states that it can't be seen before April 2008, yet

Here
Select Date enter Friday Sept. 14
Select Time enter 9pm
Channel choice enter (scroll down) Sky  One
besides the Select Time Area click on the 'Refine' button
now view what it says for 10pm until 1.40am
the very made for TV film that nobody can watch until 2008

So I don't won't believe everything that is written on the Net as pure out-n-out fact. especially when it comes to TV programmes / Films.

If you want to see these links you will have to hurry, they will only hold the last seven days of already screened programs.
