| Posted: | | | | For what it's worth, my copy of Christine has the UPC of 043396031609, and is just Christine: Special Edition. Looks like I'm missing all the fun with a funky different UPC yet again. |

Skip As you are so fond of saying, this is DVDProfiler not Movie Profiler. Ken has indicated that he is interested in the DVD Title. It doesn't matter whether or not you believe it is the 'real' title. The rule for possessives says to check the CREDIT BLOCK on the back of the DVD case. It says nothing about the US Copyright Office. I am sorry Skip but you are in complete violation of the rules. I feel I should also point out that Ken made this clarification in response to your last attempt to go around the rules. I find it sad that the person who used to live by the mantra, "I follow Ken's lead," is now ignoring him completely. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | I am sorry Unicus and richie YOU are bot WRONG. Unicus you SEEM to have a good command of the English language so you should be able to understand this. Had Ken intended it to be ONLY the Credit Block then he would NOT have used the word VERIFIABLE because it would be absolutely irrelevant...but he DID use the word verifiable which in and of it self implies verification via outside sources and I repeat I can verify the title. You are right Unicus it is DVD Profiler and the title for those that are interested in the title of the DVD is JohN Carpenter's Christine not some FICTITIOUS made up title to suit some users PREFEREWNCE. Oh bit I forgot we are NOT, despite the claims of some, interested ion any kind of accuracy. I have ONE interest ACCURATE data, NOT fictional data, around here we have become interested in FACTUAL data ONLY when it is convenient to do so, otherwise we will INVENT data that suits the majority whether it has any basis to FACTUAL data or not. Ken did NOT say to summarily remove possessives, but there are those users who OBVIOUSLY intend to spin what Ken said to purge the database of EVERY possessive even when that is WRONG because that suits there personal preference. The difference between me and everyone else here is that I do not try and define the data or the Rules to achieve a desired result, I may not be PERSONALLY happy with the answers sometimes, but IF the data is accurate, then what I think personally is totally irrelevant and I can deal with my personal preferences on a local level. As I have said before this has become about users wanting manipulate the data in the Online so that THEY can deal with a pre-packaged dataset that they do not have to fiddle with and to hell with accurate information. Since you are one of those NOT documenting your common names but just ASSUMING that similar names are the same person, I am not terribly interested. I already know what your interest in accuracy and the Rules is.

| Posted: | | | | Skip I think probably with the best of intentions you may have let your passion lead you to misinterpret what it says. The rules were changed, as you know. I understand this was to clarify where to obtain verification. The primary and best source for that for the purposes of this Database has been deemed to be the credit block, the rules make that very unambiguous (see below). It's only in the rare occasions that the credit block doesn't have the title that we need to go elsewhere for verification Quote: In the absence of quotes to verify Here there are quotes to verify so we know what the title should be. | | | Last edited: by Graveworm |

Skip I do document, but it is to the satisfaction of Invelos and not to you. But none of this has anything to do with Christine. | | | ...James

| Posted: | | | | It has everything to do with it, James. it has to do with making ASSUMPTIONS wjhich may or may not be correct. I do not ASSUME anything, X=x is not good enough just because they are similar. Frank DeVol=DeVol is not good enough because they are similar...don't think about me...who KNOWS the answer, think about the casual user who does NOT know the answer, for once, James and may very well not be aware that they are the same. I have stated previously that any valid No vote, ge5ts my attention and a correction done regardless of the number of Yes votes and that stands today, but it is NOT true with you because you don't care about either the accuracy or the Rules, whatever works for you and however you can spin to meet your desired result is all that counts with you. I have seen it first hand TOO many times.
I have said it before, I go where the data takes me, I don't have predetermined direction and then try to m,ake the data and the rules meet it.
