But I will prefer to cut the 2 middle steps, since the troublemakers could continue with 10 post, even with a single post.
Yeah but maybe once they are on low reputation they may think twice about making posts which may recieve negative ratings. Which I would of thought is the whole point really. A bit like the 'Justice field' on Dwarf lol |

| Posted: | | | | Sounds like it could be a good idea... just hope I am wrong here... but I have a feeling many will be abusing this. Of course hard for me to completely picture until it is implemented. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Interesting idea, Ken. Let's all hope that some people will not misuse this new system (who am I kidding with ). Best of luck. | | | October 12th, 1985. Tonight, a comedian died in New York. |

| Posted: | | | | Quote: All posts may be edited by the original poster within the first 48 hours only A problem I see with this is that it'll negate the posts where people update them over time. For example, there are two pinned threads in the General topic where people keep track of their theater visits and DVD list. If they can't edit their previous post to add additional information, the only thing that they can do is to add a new post. That leads to fragmentation and pretty much makes the thread useless. |

| Posted: | | | | Ken, Will you be able to see who has given you a "negative" point? The reason I ask this has to do with Pete's concerns over abuse. You would need to know who dinged you in order to report what you believe to be abuse. I hope you guys don't get inundated with this kind of stuff! | | | Hal |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Ken Cole: Quote: The top post in an announcement or pinned topic may be edited without restriction. Could you expand on the first part? Normal users cannot make real announcements so I'm not sure what that means. Threads introducing a plugin, HTML section, or other accessory are normal threads and not pinned. No longer being able to edit the first post in those is a bit of a drawback. Sorry for nitpicking. Otherwise I think it is a great idea that has the potential of making this place a little more friendly again. | | | Matthias |

For those concerned with abuse, see the red note in the first post. The admins have a tool to monitor this from a couple different angles. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

| Posted: | | | | Ken, can you provide specifics on the point system.
How many to get a warning; how many for a "Low", etc?
Also, does the rating change immediately on reaching the "quota"?
For the lowest, is it an automated ban, or will you or Gerri need to do somthing to implement that part (meaning there could be a significant delay)?
Inquiring minds want to know. | | | Hal |

| Posted: | | | | Very interesting idea, and will be interesting to see it in action.
It just too bad you had to spend the time and resources on something like this rather than some other more "fun" things (DVD Profiler+)
Nevertheless, I look forward to seeing how this affects the forums, and some particular users.... |

Can you tell which of your posts or votes or contributions have received negative votes?
If you edit a post or a vote or contribution notes, does it reset the reputation voting? | | | ...James

| Posted: | | | | Interesting concept, but I predict that it will fall out of control, as there are those whose hatred is so great and sick that they will jump on anything, not unlike several users whom I see bringing their personal agendas to the voting system . Abuse of it will be rampant.
