| Posted: | | | | I am hopeful that at some point in this beta cycle Ken will give us the ability to better define the Features that appear on a disc, yes I am talking about SPECIFICS, which of course would be taken from the disc, there are any number of possible methods to achieve this. As for the BY data...not interested in it beyond our current fuction. IF I have a desire to know such information, there are many sources that i can use to find it and catalog it locally. At least until such time as users are willing to research such data beyond IMDb, to ensure accuracy, and properly notate it...NO, we have enough trouble already. I do not wish to send Birthday cards, or condolence cards on death. What's next the details of the celebrities demise, location, nature of death maybe even an autopsy report. Even as I type this we have an old established user attempting to Contribute Credited As data without documenting trhat Name A=Name B and even worse without citing the CLT to support the data change, simply submitting the change...and people are voting for it, using a Ouija board seems to be good enough. | Posted: | | | | Quoting Agrare: Quote: To add a couple points addressing the OP
for searching the forums try using google search with site:invelos.com works better than the forum search engine which tends to time out if more than one term is used. Okay, this is exactly what happened to me, timing out. Maybe they could alter the message that comes (saying time out) to say that one should use Google. Thanks for the tip! Quote: a shared profile for the movie for different dvd releases has been suggested/requested. can maybe find that topic with google search and add your voice of support Will do. Quote: auto downloading of child profiles is a popular request (as long as its not fully automatic as not everyone uses them in all situations) so hopefully we will see that in a future version. Can imagine, I also want control over the things that will be downloaded, but give a few boxes to click on and download what I've checked. Quote: quotes/sounds/ movie themes: these can probably be handled with an html window pretty easily. I must take a look at those html windows, they facilitate lots of things. The only bad thing is that you have to enter them yourself and it's not a community driven data field. Quote: Ctrl-Home/Ctrl-End do work to bring you to the first/last entry. Strange, they do work, probably I tried the Home and End keys. Quote: actor info: gonna here this is dvd profiler not actor profiler on this one i wouldn't mind some more actor info as well, or at least using birth years on all, but at this time, as stated, birth years have a specific use and unless Ken changes the policy on that any non-necessary birth years need to be kept local. Point taken, probably went in a bit too deep with the death etc, but birth date and place (country) would help a lot to ease the proces of choosing the right actor. Quote: more dvd info: personally, since there are already plenty of good tools that do this, and its really a pretty minor part of DVD profiler and doesn't take that much time I wouldn't want to see programming time spent on it unless it could be done quickly by encorporating calls to an existing 3rd party function library I second that. If it's not too much trouble, get it in DVD Profiler. If it's too difficult (time consuming). Do you know if there is a thread with usefull tools to use when working with DVD Profiler? Quote: F1 help would also be nice, but writing help manuals can be a full time job and adding tool tips and help links is fairly boring and time consuming (at least for me) so I don't blame Ken for not having more of it. I don't blame Ken also, but only suggesting things that would improve. I've found myself several times wondering what type of case I had to enter this time and found myself pressing F1 to see if something was mentioned. Nothing came so suggested something what could help. Got a question related to having a "canned" cast & crew list: do you know if there is a tool or plugin that gives you the option to copy an entire cast / crew list from one DVD to another? Thanks for the reply Agrare |

As long as you want to copy and paste the entire cast and crew, it is possible to do. Simply open the source DVD in edit mode. Right click on the cast or crew section and select 'copy all cast' or 'copy all crew'. Close that profile and open the target profile in edit mode. Right click on cast or crew and select 'paste all cast' or 'paste all crew'. This will overwrite the existing so make sure that is what you want to do. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar |

From what i can glean of your wishes, MANY of them are already a part of the program. For example being able to download specific parts of a file.

| Posted: | | | | As far as auto-downloading of children, not sure about this one. It sounds simple enough, BUT remember that many of the titles in a given box are also sold as freestanders, it may be a bit more complex than it would seem. But I don't have a copy of Delphi to know for sure.

It sure looks that way, well DVD Profiler has changed a lot over the years. Busy learning it. PS Nice dvd your last one: Battle 360 : The Complete Season One. Hope to see them in the shops here soon. |
