That is what Rifter claims he does. I never claimed any such thing. Why must you ALWAYS twist what somebody says? You are rapidly becoming not worth the effort to even try to discuss anything with. | | | John

Are you seriously suggesting that people should should watch every movie from beginning to end in order to do the cast list?
No matter what anyone says, I do not believe anyone is doing this!
I do it. Regularly. I'd also be careful about suggesting I'm not telling the truth. Then why did you say "I do it. Regularly." | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

Then why did you say "I do it. Regularly." Do you have a problem reading English? You claimed you don't believe anyone watches a movie to get cast names, and I said I do it regularly. Then you turn right around and call me a liar. WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM, BOY???? Maybe you should try proofreading what you write before shooting off your big mouth. | | | John

Please lock this thread. Watching Hal simply refuse to attempt to engage in something other than attacking and insulting conversation is just too much. I have already requested Rifter to disengage.

| Posted: | | | | Yeah I think this topic as run its course, the first poster was talking about more complete role names. We have already decieded that if the roles are listed in the credits then take it from there.
The second topic was if no role was listed, someone suggested that we keep the role names the same across all seasons of a series. I see no issue with that as long as the contributor is aware of the other contributions. I don't think the comuninity as a whole would disagree.
The other was where to get the roles, the rules say we can use another source to help determine the role. Another source can be the DVD packaging, menus, subtitles or how other actors address a particular character. I don't think agrueing over how some members determine the name does anyone any good.
I've used the following; Fan Sites Close Captions or Subtitles DVD packaging DVD menus (cast bios) When a character address' another character Tombstones when a character is dead
And if I can't figure out the role name I leave it blank in hopes that another contributor will have better luck than me. The nice thing about having a community built database. | | | Are you local? Skip Yes, let's lock all the threads which make Skipnet uncomfortable. Then this forum will have that same Gestapo feel as the contributions section does. I also do not believe that anyone watches every DVD from beginning to end just to get the exact credits, but then that is because I actually have a life and cannot conceive of someone doing such a thing when one is notbeing paid to do so. By the way, it is nice to know that Skipnet does in fact give Rifter his marching orders. | | | Last edited: by EPKJ |

| Posted: | | | | EPKJ: I don't feel at all uncomfortable. You are an insulting and abusive user, we have had any number of users such as yourself and the outcome is always the same . So just keep up your behavior and eventually...you won't be here. You were probably one of those that back in the old days used to say we don't have to pay any attention because they are Guidelines and Guidelines don't HAVE to be followed. So they became Rules that do have to be followed, there are places you can go that do not have the functionality of profiler but also don't have the Rules to be followed, in short you can do whatever you wish.
