| Posted: | | | | As I have understood Ken, you can remove actors who is listed as credited but are not in the credits on the movie. |

wow..... I'm with you on this one. The rules and ad hoc rules for uncredited are so contradictory at this point that I'm not sure how to vote on these anymore. I've said before that if DVDP and IMDb were ever both 'correct' on uncredited, we'd have to remove ours because it would match theirs. Carbon copy, exact match, near match, close match, all match except the different ones, we have more, they have more, change capitalization, break ties with role names, marked, unmarked, official website good, official website not good enough, copy another UPC ok, don't copy other UPCs, grandfathered, timestamps, screenshots, AHH! | | | ...James

| Posted: | | | | Unlike Hal and others I think the data HAS to be removed. 1)The title was release AFTER Ken's announcement at IVS relative to (uncredited) and @0 The data was NEVER properly documented and hence illegal to begin with, I do not side with those that believe if it was illegfal and snuck through the system it is NOW legal. Sorry, sports fans, that is my opinion, but only Ken can make this call and his answer ( or Gerri's) should clear this up. But I don't think this should have much to do with votes, it is simply a call on Ken's part relative what he has said in the past and illegal data getting past the screeners and perhaps even the voters.

| Posted: | | | | I still don't understand the problems about the cleaning up of a profile where something like this can be read:
Dozier as Bernie (Bertie?) the dog
Maybe it's Bernie, maybe it's Bertie, we don't know really, but what the hell... And don't forget that this profile was copied by many others for their local version of "Derailed'' (there are 19 profiles in the database of this movie).
Worse, there is only one (065935-221814) where the disc was used.
Just dump a lot actors in it, there are people who like that: the more the better, even if they aren't credited. Example, now pending in the database: Executive Suite (012569-575523) where the submitter notes: " I added more cast, crew members. and disc info." |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting eaglejd: Quote: This film was added to InterVocative on Feb 16 2006. In all the contribution notes there is nothing documenting any source for any actors credited or uncredited. Here is the link to the film at InterVocative. Take a look and tell me what justification there is to keep any actors that are not in the film credits.
http://www.intervocative.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=178775&PageNum=LAST
Now since there was no source or documentation for adding the uncredited, I am submitting the changes to the cast and crew taken from the film credits and in order.
The ney sayers say I should justify removing the uncredited, I am saying that the uncredited were not justified or documented when added. Again go to the above link and look.
Whoever votes NO on this is voting to make our online database currupt.
Use a little common sense.
8ballMax-----"Obviously not an IMDb clone of uncredited. Prove they don't belong before removing."
I have proved that they were not added correctly.
hal9g-----"Please stop removing uncredited actors just becuase you don;t like them!"
I am not removing them because I don't like them. I am removing them because they were not properly added and don't belong in the credits.
RHFactor-----"Removes previously approved data with no source."
I have a source, the contribution note from InterVocative, showing that there was not any documentation for adding any cast and crew. I agree with you 100%. That is a perfectly legitimate reason to remove those uncredited entries. Secondly, this movie came out after the date (Jul 2005) when documentation started to be required for all such entries. There have been many updates to clear out that undocumented stuff that have been approved, including a number of mine, since then. Stick to your guns. | | | John

That looks to me like someone is not reading the film credits, Ohara. i would check the film's credits and correct as necessary. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Once they have been then you have to follow the rules and document their removal. That's a load of hooey and you know it. There are all kinds of things that have gotten approved that shouldn't have been. If there weren't, we wouldn't need to do updates on profiles like we do, because they'd all be correct to start with. Just because something slips through the cracks and manages to get approved is no reason to justify keeping in the database, especially when we are not supposed to add uncredited stuff AT ALL without proper documentation. | | | John

They were never documented either. | | | Jim

Please provide proof that by removing them, you are making the database more accurate! You provide proof that they are in it! Provide proof that they deserve to be listed as credited yet don't appear in the cast list. And who says they have any value in the first place? Prove that while you're at it! | | | John

| Posted: | | | | There is also this Thread on the subject...and on the second page there is a reference to the fact that To Remove them now also requires documentation. If I remember correctly due to the merging of the old IVS database. Steve |

| Posted: | | | | Again, I chose another actor you are removing at random. Mehru Khan Very easy search to her home biography site - HEREAnd I quote... Mehru also became interested in acting and started taking on roles as an extra in Hollywood films. So far she has acted in “Derailed” starring Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owens, “Stranger than Fiction” starring Dustin Hoffman, Queen Latifah and Will Ferrell. And “The Break Up” starring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn I believe in this case you are trying to remove valuable data, for 2 random searches I have done for people you wish to remove from the profile, it is clear they were actually in the film. This may actually be a rare case of the data being correct! | | | | | | Last edited: by hayley taylor |
