I do like the idea of client added banners. But correct implementation can get messy considering all possible case types including custom cases.

It'll poke a hole in the "rounded corners" argument! (OK with me)

A Checkbox for each profile to activate/deactive the banner which is already defined by the media type should do that.

Such a checkbox could possibly be found under the "Personal" part of each profile.

That's a different issue entirely, falcon If you don't check that box because you don't want the banner, then there is also NO descriptor to tell you it is HD/BD/DVD.

To others known as the "Personalization"... window Why would such a box void the Descriptor of the profile?

Data Base entry Is definitely Better,, colors / clarity and the size of scan is also questionable..

Totally have to disagree!  The one he submitted is sharper, has better contrast, and the color balance is better.

Not necessarily true.  My imported Japanese HD DVDs (The Brothers Grimm and Equilibrium) come in standard DVD keepcases and do not utilize the red banners.

Would have to agree with everyone else that this should be on an individual disc basis and not a global thing.

Thanks,
Bill

Yes... have to agree, and what when we get simpson HD Heads and metalcases, this banner thing is going to the trash...
maybe, a litle banner in the corner or somthing is better if absolutely needed?
We are all at the same age, only at different time...

Current thought is to base this on case type, and display the banners (when enabled) on HD profiles with either of the HD case types, without the slipcover checkbox checked.

Ghost in the Shell (Japanese) has the movie on a BD and a DVD each in it's own standard keep case all in a box.

Is this a global thing or is this a title-by-title basis?

That's what I would call a messy implementation.
