| Posted: | | | | *sigh* Color me shocked, a delay. </sarcasm> I don't mean for that to come across across as snide, really. I honestly don't recall the first time it was announced that an App for DVD Profiler was coming to the iPhone. I've waited patiently. I fully believe a developer should take their time and get the end product right, before releasing a buggy product. One of my biggest frustrations has been the lack up updates on this project. Let me be clear that when I say updates, I'm not talking release dates, but rather some general updates that it's going good, still a ways to go, but progress is being made. Maybe a tease as to some features that are being worked on.
Deadlines suck in any form of any work. Ken imposed one on himself and his team (?) when he announced cryptically that iphone/itouch/iPad users would be very happy by the end of October only to meet with failure. Seriously, why do this? Just say, it's almost there, hopefully very soon. People are going to badger the developer for an item that they want. I get that the developers want to appease the masses, but it only further disappoints when the product is not delivered on time.
We are all here because we LOVE DVD Profiler. We are all on this thread because we have some form of an apple mobile device. My plea to Ken and his team, if there is a team, I'm not sure, is to please keep us a little more informed on movement of projects, don't promise time frames and not deliver and just keep putting out great products that we love.
But yea, I do have to say, I didn't believe the cryptic message, sorry, Ken... | | | If you find yourself with nothing to watch, you are no lover of film. |

| Posted: | | | | Ken,
Any rough idea as to how much memory this will use? I have 3500+ profile collection. Rough estimates as to memory requirement for both iPhone and iPad would be appreciated.
Thanks, | | | My Home Theater |

Thanks, I wouldn't presume to answer for Ken, but as a frame of reference, I have just under 3K in my collection and when I upload to my Windows Mobile Device the file is about 785MB. Since data is data I would assume the iPad/iPhone file would be of a similar size. YMMV Tom | | | Tom

| Posted: | | | | I'm assuming that on the iPad and probably iPhone 4 the images would be preserved as-is so whatever size your images directory is would be a good round number. (The device's resolution exceeds the cover size.)
For 3G/3GS, the image could be resized down to 320x480 but that would slow the sync time down considerably. Probably easier to store the covers as-is and then scale on the device. |

| Posted: | | | | My default database folder is just over 2GB in size. I guess I could live with that. Time to make room on my iPhone and iPad. | | | My Home Theater |
