I generally vote yes unless I feel the new image is worse than the existing. Should we vote no if we don't feel it's a significant improvement? There's lots of drama to be had in that "significant" word. Quoting Gerri Cole: Quote: As to the sources rule, dont overthink it. We aren't looking for information that would stand up in court. And you might want to change your attitude, these repeating insults in your latest posts are annoying and I for one am getting tired of it.
I apologize if I offended somebody, but I wanted to alert on something which I think bad for the wonderful tool dvdprofiler is. I think I made no personnel attack before Rifter insulted me. I really did not admit his tone As for Skip, he was always correct. He send me a sympathic private message , where he said he was "probably the best man to ask, I am after all the principle architect of the rules as they exist". That is why I tried to discuss with him. The problem is that he reads only what he wants, and do not try to understand any message which doesn't go in his direction So Skip, sorry for my attitude , I thank you for the job you make , but I'm not always Ok with you, because you work for zone1 english profiles and the problem is not the same everywhere. DariusKyrak said also that with probably better expression than me, and I totally agree with him | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

I'll agree that Skip was (one of...?) the initiators of the Rules and brought the idea forward to InterVocative. However, after the Rules had been written, they have to stand up for themsleves and it is no longer relevant who had the initial idea. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. I don't think many people if any are going to chase down source that are not on the DVD or its packaging, iin order to check a submitted profile, know I'm not.
That's why don't like uncredited actors and I made a request many moons ago that a separate list be provided for them. I remove them from my DB as I have the time.
Especially in older movies, where the roles were not defined in the credits, I have watched the movie to determine the roles actors played.
Obviously, if you reduce the data that must be acquired from outside sources to a minimum the chance for an debate will be minimized.
On images, remember, and I am repeating myself, if a submitted image does not fit in the 500 X 700 pixels box, it will be compress to fit. This will change the quality of the image, for better or worse. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. Ineptocracy, You got to love it. To add to what ya_shin said, there were quite a few 'architects of the rules'. Skip had the idea and assembled the group but, in his own words, he was only the facilitator...the group wrote the rules. I also agree that the best place to ask questions about the rules is in the forum. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Quote: The only frustration I have, is when an image contribution is declined, despite there being up to a 20-1 yes vote. As it is basically a subjective element of a profile, surely such a great majority should dictate that it is a preferable image? But it appears the screener/autobot follows the 1 no vote.
Frustrated I recently submitted higher quality coverscans for The 6th Day (5035822099036.4) which received 11 positive and 0 negative votes. Still the submission was declined for some reason.
Really frustrated
Keep in mind, it isn't just the number of votes. Some people vote yes on everything - who cares if it is the wrong UPC or the wrong language or there aren't sources... etc. You get the idea.
If you feel it was wrongly rejected, I encourage to send it back again with comments. Almost every time I seen one of those comments (something like "Recontribution, was declined last time with a 20:1 vote) I will PM you with why if I decline it again.

I really did not admit his tone Let's not blame me for the chip on your shoulder when you came in here complaining. Several people tried to explain it to you and you wouldn't listen. You still don't seem to really understand it, but be that as it may. You have to understand that you are not the only one who pops in here with that sort of attitude, and it gets real old having to listen to it. So, if I was a bit harsh and unsympathetic by your lights, don't let it bother you, it wasn't personal. | | | John

How pathetic! No, what's pathetic is that YOU are the only one I've ever heard accuse Skip of taking all the credit for doing the rules. He certainly has never claimed that. Your hatred of Skip, and the subsequent acrimony in your posts is wearing more than a little thin. | | | John
