A long time ago I created a mock-up what a newer Audio & Subtitles section could look like and extend the current one.

Unfortunately Ken never picked up on it and by now it doesn't seem likely that we'll ever get another feature update.

The Invelos site is not having technical problems, it's your local telco's DNS servers that may be experiencing some sort of DNS denial-of-service attack. To get around this temporarily, use the Windows host file and add the IP address of the Invelos web site.

But it's only Invelos. If the DNS service had problems why is it only this one domain?

Yeah me too. About once a day for the past few weeks the site is unreachable for a few hours and then it's just back again. I don't know if it's a DNS issue or what it is.

As always when there's no clear right answer or at least no consensus: Do it how you want locally and lock the field.

While it cannot tell you that no sound editor is credited, it can tell you that crew is missing altogether or the overview is missing or that there are no media companies.

Contribution was released. In my test database I deleted my local profile and re-added it and now I get the overview.

Can someone confirm?
Posted:
Topic Replies: 3, Topic Views: 555
I can confirm that the overview doesn't download. There is only one blank character in it.

I've now copied the overview visible in the online comparison and pasted it into a plain text editor.

Then I "overwrote" the invisible overview, re-formatted the text again and contributed it.

Let's see if that helps. My guess is that there's some sort of hiccup in the original that causes this.

When a profile is declined it gets a cookie-cutter explanation. What did you get?

But in principle I have to agree with scotthm, just recontribute and it'll probably get through.

Here's my personal stance on it: I've never cared about the disc Id section of the profile, so I never filled nor contributed it.

However, I do create new profiles based on the new Windows 10 disc Id because I don't have an AnyDVD license and don't need one for anything else.

I also do contribute the profiles and attach them to season profiles if that season doesn't already have child profiles attached to it.

Because at the end of the day, this disc Id is what we have now and it seems unlikely that we ever get a different solution from either Microsoft or Invelos for this problem.

And for me it's good enough to have a unique Id for a profile where no UPC/EAN is abvailable.

If the accurate Disc ID in a profile is overwritten with the Disc ID for that same disc as read out by a recent Windows 10 version, then, even although the contribution rules state: "All Disc IDs are stored in the main database and are used for disc identification within DVD Profiler", DVD Profiler does in fact not recognise the disc by the previously "stored" Disc ID, only by the newly submitted Disc ID. Putting in the disc and asking DVD Profiler to scan the disc will result in this message:

So no, both IDs don't "work the same", unfortunately.

But that does beg the question: Has this ever worked before? Or was it always a "last Disc Id wins" kind of scenario?

Yes it does work, provided the scanner can act like a keyboard, i.e. transmit the barcode data like someone is typing in the numbers via keyboard.

I've been using one for years

It's a matter of perspective, I guess. For me "old movies" means pre 1990.

But a 2005 movie is not new either. And a 1995 movie is one human generation old.

What "old movies"?  I don't even see anything there that's B&W.

My philosophy is, if it's younger than me, it's not an old movie.

Old: Older than now minus ten years.
