| Posted: | | | | I've noticed several profiles recently in which there are numerous cast listings for 'archival footage (uncredited)'.
This is something that makes absolutely no sense. How can you credit a piece of film used as background footage or as a picture on a TV which is a prop on the set? You can't give a credit to something that isn't alive, that isn't human.
All such entries should be removed wherever and whenever they are found. It's bad enough leaving uncredited stuff for no-name extras without compounding things by giving credits to non-existent actors. | | | John

I agree on the removal of the archival footage, it really shouldn't be there. One profile I saw recently had Adolf Hitler listed... uncredited, however, should remain, which you do. I was very pleased to see that you corrected the sorting in one contribution upon my comment (in a Yes vote nonetheless)! | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. | Posted: | | | | i voted yes to john's change because in la confidential the actors in the archival footage are not credited with the actors in the film. so has this become the place where all the variant rule interpretations just get shouted out and adopted without a common census? john is right; they don't belong krik | | | "Vampirism is still not a disease, Julia. | Posted: | | | | I agree that Archival footage should not be in the db. Neither should scenes deleted. Both of those credits a 99% positive hit for IMDB data, and is meaningless information with regard to the DVD that we profile. | | | Kevin |

Skip I feel the same way, sometimes they can be integral to a storyline, but most occasions John is right they are just background props. Neutral here | | | |

Neutral here Count me in as well. I know I have seen 'archival footage' intigrated into a storyline without adding the person in question into the end credits. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
