| Posted: | | | | Hi all, First post and all... Yesterday I uploaded new cover scans for the titles "Suriyothai" (UPC 4852635050587) and "Chihwaseon" (Thai edition UPC 8858512000344), as both held what could be considered substandard image files for their entries (small, pixelated thumbnails). I noted "cover scans updated" in my contribution notes, as the image contributed were originals scanned right here in my study, however both contributions were declined. I also updated the cover scans for Thai title "Phra-Apai-Mani" (UPC 8854201011219), as well as updated the running time and added the disc ID straight from my DVD-ROM drive (which, it would surely be obvious, that I have to own the disc to be able to add the disc ID for an entry since it has to be read from the disc). The running time and disc info contributions were noted as "manually verified", which I thought would have indicated that an individual would have to physically own a disc to do so (?). This contribution was also declined. What did I do wrong? And how does one verify and confirm data being contributed, when it's yourself from your own library doing so? What should I have entered in deference to the notes "manually verified/confirmed"? I am new to this version of DVD Profiler and would gladly appreciate some pointers so that this embarrassing faux pas doesn't happen again... Cheers, Mike |

Usually I write Better cover scans (Source the DVD) : of course the new scans must be better Used the DVD to verify running time Disc-ID from DVDdrive ... and my contributions are approved |

| Posted: | | | | Thank you kindly for your response! I have resubmitted the data that was previously declined with MUCH more detailed notes this time. Hopefully they will pass the approval process now. | | | Last edited: by dollyhuang |

| Posted: | | | | Yeah - if you just put "cover scans updated" and have other updates as well without source info, they'll get declined. | | | Last edited: by Dr. Killpatient |

| Posted: | | | | Aha! I think I have it all figured out at last as to why my last few contributions have been declined. Up until I updated my DVD Profiler software, and paid registration, I was running with the old Intervocative software v2.40, and because I had updated the majority of my local collection it didn't pick up the anomalies in the existing DB when I made the move across to the Invelos version. Thus, some of the entries that currently hold incorrect data (like wrong localities and so on) weren't picked up at my end due to the differences in my local files against the current DB (ie: I have "Phra Apai Mani" corrected to the locality of "Thailand", where the two existing DB entries show "Korea" and "Indonesia" [both incorrect] as localities). So, as my profiler didn't pick up these differences before I contributed updated entries, I wasn't aware of them. I think, in the interim, as operating a copy of this software is essentially a hobby for me and not a lifestyle choice, I'll simply leave updating the many hundreds of Asian titles that house incorrect and/or erroneous data to my local collection on my PC; it seems thus far that, unless a title isn't in the DB, I have to jump through hoops to add/improve cover scans or correct glaringly obvious mistakes (well, they're glaringly obvious to someone who lives in [and travels regularly through] the Asia-Pacific region) and I wish I had more time to indulge that kind of thing...but I don't. | | | Last edited: by dollyhuang |

| Posted: | | | | You can just submit the images without the rest of the profile. So even if your local profile is unacceptable, you can still vey well only submit your newly scanned coverimages. | | | My DVD's
