| Posted: | | | | Just a question on cover scans. Is it necessarily de rigour to include the case top with the HD DVD logo on it? It would probably give better results, scanning wise, if the case could completely be dispensed with and just cover itself be scanned.
cheers,

| Posted: | | | | The forums seem to flip-flop between having the banner and doing away with the banner. Somewhere buried in this topic, I created a post with clean clear HD-DVD and Blu-Ray logos that you can use instead of scanning in the logo part of the case. |

| Posted: | | | | That was very nice of you. I use it all the time. Do you have a version that is 1000 pixels wide for my local DB use? I store all my local covers at 1000 pixels wide.

Plus didn't Ken state that he favored the banner, so discussion closed??? | | | My Home Theater |

I went and looked and found 3 polls and the majority voted 'No'. I did not look for a post from Ken. Ken looked at 4 of the (in)famous polls and no doubt comments in the threads and made the following statement: " It looks like the poll on this is pretty even, and the existing scans generally do have the banners. Bottom line is that removal of the banner won't be accepted if there's no other improvement to the scan." So the answer, Mekon, is no, but 90% of the US titles include the logo and the HD owners tend to prefer it... | | | Erik

| Posted: | | | | Until the program changes the banners are the only way to tell what discs are High Def on DVDP Mobile. Well not the only way. I guess you could go into each profiles audio section and see if there is one of the HD audio formats listed When and if a program change is implemented perhaps we can re-address it but for now without the banner it creates a loss of function with the mobile program. |

Regardless, in HD DVD, the custom amongst most of those who do the scans is still to include the case. | | | ...James

Goes the other way too - I submitted a few cover scans that replaced the awful looking HD/Blu cover that was included with a nice neat banner but since the actual movie picture itself wasn't improved (even if the overall was), it was declined. |
