It is no longer needed. Simply scan directly into the UPC field.

If you have an unmodified CueCat and therefore trouble to do so get the CatNip software.

Catnip Software
How to set up
Here are the settings to use for CatNip to decode the output of a Cuecat for 3.x

On the "CatNip Settings" Tab
Select data for Output Type
no Seperator
under Teminator select  Return
under audible, I just keep it at the default setting
under Timeout select 1250

On the "CatNip Profiles" tab
Click on Add Profile, select a name, I used "DVD Profiler"
Click on Add Scan, type UPA , click on Filter, typ in 12 Plus signs (+), click on save scan

Now when you go to enter a DVD by UPC you should be able to just scan it, and it should be decoded.

Hi,

I have a modified cuecat and I don't know to suppress the automatic "Return" after scanning.  This prevents me from choosing which DVD I would like to add when multiple DVD profiles match the scanned UPC.

Can someone help me?

Sebastien, that is strange, I have a modified CueCat as well and no problem with it. For some reason for me it doesn't execute the line feed after scanning and I get to choose the DVD/profile I want...

Sorry for not being more helpful.

And it does the line feed also in Notepad.  I tried to install the old catnip software (v. 1.5) and I couldn't make it work for my cuecat (it doesn't change the behaviour of my cuecat).

Anyway, thanks for responding!

Is there anybody else who had this problem?

Are you starting the CueCat software when you need to use it?

You may want to pick up a new CueCat.  I got one from the CueCat store on eBay for $10 and haven't regretted it.

What software?  Is there any software designed for it?

I just received my brand new USB modified cuecat.  It scans very well, except for the forced line feed.

Sorry, The CatNip Software, and it only works with UNMODIFIED CueCats.

Sorry, but I did not have this problem the few times I used a new, USP modified CueCat.  It worked fine right out of the box (mailer bag).  Without any CatNip software.

Any news on this?

Newly got my cat (actually two) and it has the exact same problem, in norway this could get anoying as many DVD's has the same UPC/EAN for the Nordic countries...  and in most cases one of the other countries are listed before Norway.
We are all at the same age, only at different time...
