I continue to contribute too, not as much as I want but everytime that I get a title who is not in the database I put it in my computer reader and fill the info. I'm not perfect and I have made some error with my contribution, but I have made the corection when the user point them in their vote.

I don't like everything in the rules, but they are the rules and we have to live with them. If I want something different I keep it local that's all, I don't cry about that ...

Might be kinda hard to get Lee Van Cleef to star in this as he's been dead since 1989.  Now if someone had made such a film, such as say in 1966, maybe you'd have something.

Bring him back!!! Nothing says classic good movie than having a zombie or two.

That's the same approach I use.  Can't see any reason to do otherwise.

I agree mostly.
The only 'issue' that is annoying me today (as well as in the past), is that the rules are way too concise. Surely we don't want to be reading 100 pages of rules. But today they are so concise that you really have to read them over and over again and most people still will not fully get how we should do it.
There would be one very easy solution for that (other than clarifying the rules themselves) : maintaining a simple FAQ. The rules are lacking examples. The actual examples you usually get are from the forums, but there you get the same discussions over and over again, and often even plain wrong answers (I am pretty sure that I once read that Boxset casetype is only to be used if it is holding together separately packaged items).
And please don't tell that we don't need that, that the rules are clear, etc... The numerous discussions, or even my casetype polls, clearly show that some rules are misunderstood by the majority of contributors. A FAQ would be very easy to refer to each time a forum or voting discussion comes up.

If it takes 100 pages of rules to get them right and get them so there are no more fights over parsing or nitpicking, then more power to em.  If that's what it takes for accurate data, then so be it.

I too will continue to contribute as I don't see any problems with the way it is currently setup and that includes the 'Credited As' feature that has been recently implemented. The feature is there and we have the go-ahead to use it.

The way I look at it is if you contribute with the best intentions thinking you have entered everything correct why not let it get voted to ensure that it does abide by the guidelines. You can't possibly remember all the rules so by putting up your contribution for votes allows other members to point out something you missed. In the past I have submitted some stuff that I felt was correct and scuffled a little but in the end when it was pointed out which rule I missed or in the case of the Diehard Steelbook issue I put it up to the forums for discussion and after that discussion pulled the submission because in actuallity it didn't conform to the rules. The Rules are in place to ensure that entries conform to certain guidelines so that we don't have a database that is nothing more than ever conflicting data based on somebodies likes/dislikes.

René Descartes goes into a bar. The bartender looks at him and asks, "What'll it be, a beer?"

Descartes replies, "I think not," and promptly disappears.
