| | Posted: | | | | Replacing the "Custom" case type choice for high definition discs, two new case type choices are now offered when editing Blu-ray & HD DVD discs profiles. "HD SLIM" and or "HD Keep Case" Which choice is correct for the STANDARD current Blu-ray or HD DVD case? Currently from my database, there is a person named "Oleg' that is changing 28 HD disc profiles from "custom" to "HD Thin"  and people are voting yes. My problem with this is that when evalutating the change, I don't see an " HD Thin" choice when editing in DVD Profiler.  There are only two choices in the case type section and they read " HD Slim" and " HD Keep Case". Should I vote NO because "HD Thin" shouldn't be a choice? My second question is: Would you ony use "HD Keep Case" if there is an HD disc in a Standard DVD Keep Case? Thanks for clarification. Paul | | | | Last edited: by Paul Hillenbrand |

| | Posted: | | | | Your standardised HD case is what's being called the "HD slim" (it was initially listed as "Elite"). The HD keep cases use the same kind of clasp as an amaray and are the same thickness as a regular keep, as far as I know they aren't used in the US. |

I have no idea which is which, and can't tell from the pictures that have been offered. All the ones I have (and I have 113) are the same size. But I have no idea which is which and there's no guidance here that's useful. | | Posted: | | | | They're so similar, I don't see why they were separated to begin with; particularly when "keep case" covers pretty much anything plastic that holds DVDs and can have a paper cover slipped into it. |

| | Posted: | | | | The Elite case is 12.5mm thick, a standard DVD Keep case is 14mm (some range a bit from 13-15mm) not much difference.
Amaray's HD-DVD and BD case is the same 14mm.
Both have the same colour and disc logo, I think it would be hard to tell them apart unless you had one of each side by side.

I believe, but don't hold me to this, that all standard US HD DVD and Blu-ray cases are "slim" (except, of course, boxes and such).
