I would not use dividers for group roles at all. Dividers and group roles are completely different animals (at least from database point of view).

It depends on what the actual film credits looked like, but a role should always be included.

I voted for "Something Else".

Use of dividers, if the credits suggest it, is fine with me, but I would always add the role according the divider, only modified to remove plurals.

This option:
Use Divider and Use Group Name for Role followed by "Member"
does not represent that properly. Adding "Member" is adding non-existent data and may not always be appropriate.

EDIT:
Hmmm, I voted according the thread title, rather than the opening post. If we are talking about a band appearing in the film, then I would do it as suggested by Rick.

Sounds fairly reasonable to me.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

This can only be used if he or she actually are being themselves. So if they play in a fictitious group they can not really be themselves either.

I would only use that if the groupmembers are indivually credited (but that might be obvious).

For the rest I think Rick is right on spot.
EDIT: I also agree with the remark that it's database technically not 100% correct: theyre two different entities (think multiple divers because it's a series and then also a divider for members of a band). It can potentially get real messy.

First off, regardless of whether to use a divider for these, I'd like to say that I'm not a big fan of "inventing" data, like adding "Member" as is done in some of these examples. On-screen, we see "Robbie Hart Band", so that's what I use in my profile. Not "Robbie Hart Band Member" or "Member of Robbie Hart Band" or any other variant. I really don't see the need to do this: "Robbie Hart Band" seems just fine to me.

As for using dividers: I do like dividers, I really do, but I don't think we should become overly enthusiastic...    I tend to only use dividers if the actors under such a header are indivually credited. This isn't even a real header: it's just part of the regular cast list, with as only difference the fact that three actors share one role name. IMHO, each of those three actors should just get "Robbie Hart Band" as role name, and no divider is needed at all. I'll supply a screenshot (Martin's example is from 'The Wedding Singer'):

As you can see there's no real "header": it's just three cast members sharing the same role name. I see no need for using a divider. As others have pointed out: if this was a real band, using a band name divider with the members as themselves underneath would seem like an appropriate method. But this is fictitious, so in my database, I have simply entered it this way:

Which, as myself and others have pointed out, is NOT the solution in this case, because these actors aren't playing themselves. The "Robbie Hart Band" is a fictional group, Robbie Hart being the lead character in the film, played by Adam Sandler.

Now that I've seen the actual credits, I'd say no divider and each of the three people gets a rolename of "Robbie Hart Band".

This is why my initial response was: it depends.

I don't

With the addition of the screen shot and Martin telling us it is a fictitious band I agree with Hal. In this case each person should get the rolename Tommy Hart Band.

Yeah, if there's no "divider" in the credits there shouldn't be one in the profile, either. I agree with what hal9g said: no divider and each of the three people gets a rolename of "Robbie Hart Band".
