| Posted: | | | | I think that could help the Screeners. Besides, it's fun. Besides, now it's easer to enter bad data (as other users can't vote on new profiles) than correcting them (just one vote can sometimes stop a change). | | | -- Enry |

At the same time the submitter might be contributing a Profile for locality X when it is in fact from locality Y. Several people put up-coming titles into their wishlist, so it would still show for voting on. Steve |

| Posted: | | | | You can only put pre-entered profiles in your wishlist. Someone has already set up the profile you wish for, and it's been approved before you get the chance to wish for it.
There's no way to do what Enry wants unless EVERY profile contributed initially is made available to vote on by everybody (something I don't want in the least, I don't need to cast votes on DVDs I don't own to begin with nor do plan on obtaining at all).
It's wouldn't be fun, it would be ennervating | | | Lutz | | | Last edited: by Darxon |

| Posted: | | | | I like the idea in principle, but I can't think of a workable way of doing it as the only way we'd know they were there was if we'd already added them manually to our own database. Maybe a separate section that lists all new profiles for your chosen locality, but I'd hate to think how big that list could get! |

| Posted: | | | | I agree 8Ball, I don't need to vote on new titles. I do NEED the screeners to KILL bad Contributions, these are not hard to spot, (uncredited) data that is NOT documented, undoc'd Common Name or BY data, somebody trying to plug in Complete Cast & crew for pre-release with out an explaining remark, etc.

If I contributed my profiles of "300" or "Spider-man 3", I'm quite sure I would find other people that have them... | | | Images from movies |

Skip The problem is to wonder why "300" and "Spider-man 3" have not yet been contributed in my region/country, as they are big hits.... | | | Images from movies |

| Posted: | | | | Can't answer that one for one, Yves. But you can, why wait for someone else to do it. There are even plenty of datasets out there that conform to the Rules that could be adapted to your localty's version.

The day I bought the german version of Die Hard 4, at least 4 other people did it as well. And all tried to make an "initial contribution". | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | Now THAT is an issue that would deserve addressing! If you're doing a new contribution for a DVD someone else has just done a new contribution for as well, it would be great to get notification that new contributions have already been done. It would be even better if you could take a look at those and see if they need additional data or not.
I would be opposed to Enry's original idea for the reasons already mentioned. |

And you would really recommend that those 4 people should be enabled to vote on each others initial contributions? | | | Thorsten | | | Last edited: by kahless |
