| Posted: | | | | What is a "list of supports"?
The purpose of "DVD Profiler" is the profiling of movie and TV show on DVDs, HD-DVDs and Blu-rays.
You can of course profile your Wii games with it (in a matter of speaking) but since it wasn't built for this it isn't really the suitable program for this purpose. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | It is possible already, all you'd have to do is enter it as a manual disc ( do not contribute!). It's just that it doesn't make sense, most of the data fields are designed exclusively for DVDs and cannot be adapted to fit games, CDs, records, books or any other collectible. So you could enter the game, but wether it would be an improvement of your database is up to your decision. But you could try some of the programs offered especially for "Game profiling". Google gives you a small selection of about 469.000 hits when you enter game and profiler. Before you come to think of it: No, it's not likely that Invelos will ever develop a profiler especially for games, CDs, records, beer, whisky, women, men or any other collectible (except DVDs). It's not that it wouldn't be a good idea, in fact it's quite often requested, it's more a matter of missing capacities. Obviously DVDProfiler is a fulltime job, so Ken Cole (the only known software-developer of this company) will probably never find the time to adapt the program for other collectibles. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | I do not believe it is possible to modify the program in order to add other media types. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. It's not currently possible to add other media types, but I suppose that's the point of feature requests. The ability to add custom media types has been asked for before and I think is still a good idea. |

| Posted: | | | | That "simple" thing would be more than adding another category of discs if it is done properly. There would need to be specific fields created for Wii (or Xbox/PS3/CD/Laserdisc/VHS/8-track/Beer) information. Then rules for what is legal to submit.
Adding another disc type by itself isn't the answer, just a hack.
The goblin had some good suggestions. Another is to use Tags (Tools | Edit Tags) to create your own disc categories. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

He is asking for the ability to modify the field on his own. Ken Cole have nothing to do for me....only the possibility of modify this data field..... The part I bolded indicates that he doesn't want Ken to do anything...he just wants to know how he can modify the field. Edit: His post to tweeter just reinforces my thoughts on this. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. any suggestion as what i have to do? I didn't mean to imply you or any of us could modify the existing disc types...only the developer(s) can do that...and simply that adding a new disc type, without some program re-design to support it, isn't the answer. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

any suggestion as what i have to do? Yes, hold your breath, on second thought DON'T do that. GameProfiler, BookProfiler, musicProfiler, BeerProfiler, whateverprofiler are not new requests, in fact they date back EIGHT years, particularly for Games and Music, hundreds of time. Maybe someday, but I definitely will not tell you to hold your breath. Ooooh, pain, I got my tongue stuck in my cheek. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | I could have just missed it... but I didn't see anyone say anything about it being expensive or difficult. Only Ken and/or Geri could comment on that. But this is something that has been asked many times over the years and Invelos has yet to act on it. So basically people are saying try a workaround to get what you want... and history has shown us not to expect it through invelos. It could happen but I definitely won't hold my breath waiting for it.
As for the feature request itself... I personally would rather see a whole new program to deal with video games... instead of adding the capabilities to track them with DVD Profiler. | | | Pete |

Movies and games are two different worlds, a second program would be a much better solution. |
