| Posted: | | | | I'm close to purchasing a license for DVD profiler but I have one major concern. Can DVD profiler handle digital downloads? (eg, a purchased digital movie from Amazon.com). I have purchased quite a few digital-only movies through some great deals I've found and would like to have the movie in my collection but would like it noted that it digital only.
Am I crazy? or is this doable? |

| Posted: | | | | This can be done with manual profiles. You can download an existing DVD or Blu-ray profile, which will have all the data for that film, then convert it to a manual profile. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Additional to the above: You can make custom media types, so just make a media type "Digital Download" or similar, and you've got a way to track them with DVDP. If you want, you've got also the possibility to make a custom collection category for this movies. |

Am I crazy? or is this doable? Now that you know how, your next question will be: can I play them? Answer: yes. See the LoadDVD plugin, and the Layouts Forum for ways of playing trailers and other media directly from within DVD Profiler. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Another idea instead of making a manual profile would be to choose one DVD/BR version. (Good would be a popular version) Change all things that are different at the download media. (local of course) Then lock all those fields.
Pro: - You'll automatically get all updates made on this profile (For example cast and crew gets often updates: New Birth Years, New crew roles, ...)
Con: - You won't be able to add this version of the movie a second time - It's listed with UPC (Depending on you if you want to see it as con) |

| Posted: | | | | Welcome Special K!!! @VirusPil: nice ideas. Will use them myself. Your "Con" was a mild one, cause you can always go back and change to manual later, so I like it also. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Thank you guys! You've made me feel welcome already! I can't wait to get busy loading all my DVDs. I used the free edition many moons ago and stopped keeping track of what I had. I need to take sort through what I already have loaded and what I don't. |
