| | Posted: | | | | My hubby wants me to found out, what the benefits are to buying this DVD profiler then just using the free version (other then its helping a great cause which I'm sure it is)
It would be more for me then him as I'm the one who is more into collecting DVDs and has put all our collection (only small compared to some) of about 300 DVDs on the free version I downloaded, but he said if its worth buying the paid version and it comes with enough extras, he might pay for it for me (which is never a bad thing)
Is it a one off payment or a yearly thing?
Sorry if this information is posted somewhere but I could not find it.
Also what are peoples own thoughts on the paid version, which also might help sway him (other then 'Oh its great', etc)... |

| | Posted: | | | | Zebredy, I've spent the last week downloading and trying several DVD database managers. This one, MediaMan, Movie Collector, Eric's, two free online ones, All My Movies, and who knows what else. They all have their benefits and drawbacks. I found DVDprofiler to be the absolute best in terms of layout, "database" tools (query, filter, etc), online community/options, and everything else. It's a great program and absolutely worth the $30 if you want to feel like a master of your collection. I've only hit 5 dvds so far out of over 600 that were not in the database. I'm not sure if I contributed the profiles correctly as filling in info manually can be quite tedious, but we'll see. Bottom line: More GUI/intuitive/friendly programs offer less features. MediaMan was easy as hell to use, but you just couldn't do anything with it. DVDProfiler maybe intimidating for a day or two with its many fields and menus, but remember: Google is your friend. That's how I found answers to some questions I had. $30 well spent. Now I just wish they had a CDprofiler for my 3000 cds...  |

(There was a thread with further information. Especially the "wine profiler" a user made, brings me every time a lough) Edit: Zebredy, I think your husband would love it. Nice features to discover.
