And for sharing and firewall/router related problems look here.

That should get you started. If you still can't connect, come back with a description of your problem and we'll see what we can do.

Okay so i installed VirtualBox and installed DVDP, gave sharing rights on DVDP but for some reason on the mac osx the laptop has an ip 192.168.1.X but in VirtualBox when i open DVDP at the bottom of the screen it gives me ip 10.0.2.XX, the port is the default 32847. The question is:

Should i go ahead and assign a static ip to everything connected to my router?? Including my PS3, iphones (2), laptops (3) ??

Are the ip addresses supposed to be different when running a VM??

Please let me know if i need to go ahead and do the static IP thing so i can try and get this thing resolved once and for all. Thanks for the help in advance.

Seems to be the same problem users had with Parallels and VMWare in this thread. Maybe the solutions work for you as well.

microsoft mobile device manager is only used for windows mobile. You need to try and sync from the Ipod (not the desktop dvd profiler). The mobile phone option in dvd profiler is what it says. (a windows mobile phone - and that uses a different application on windows mobile).

select databases/ then update default/update
(assuming the database is called default).

select tools/options/sharing

have you selected the box "allow changes from remote clients"?

and select "grant access to my network - subnet only"

(then you don't need to add a password to allow changes..)
