Only DVD, HDDVD and BD is in the online database of titles. For other formats you need to create your own profile.  You can do this two ways (that I know of)... Add by title and uncheck Download from Invelos (bottom left of screen)... this will give you an empty profile you can build from scratch. Or you can add by title... find a DVD for that title to download... and change all differences locally only. You can not add this info to the online database. So after making your changes remember to lock the profile so it don't get overwritten.

- 3D section maybe added for the next release. (I thought there was a post from Ken on this?!) Until it's in database as normal Bluray. (Of course you can still add a custom media type to them)

- You can add custom genres. Srting should also work with them.

- As far as I know you can't access your collection from a PS3.

- For your "old" media types, there was somewhere a thread with the symbols, you could use for your custom media types. (If I'll find some time I'll have a look for it)

i tried a demo of an oldeer version on an old pC, and could access the collection from my PS3. The layout was different, and it was a read-only, not editable like the PC interface. It's useless to me if I cant view it on the PS3 (Or smart TV when I get one), as the idea of getting it was so I could view my library from the TV room

It doesn;t seem to show any of the images I've uploaded for titles or formats that aren;t on the database. IS there a way to select genre or format from the 'online' viewing option that I'm using on the PS3? Can't seem to find an option for that. Thanks.
Also it seems to list all comonents of box sets individually, wehich I dont like. It's good on the default option, but causing a lot of excessive clogging on the 'online view'

I'm using an old version of phpDVDprofiler and it works really good, with some fancy statistic and so on but you need a server with a database and php, you can find some free hosting that propose you but you will require few minutes to setup
but in this case you will manage exactly was you have in your collection with the chosen pictures

Out of curiosity, what is the reason why VHS/LD/etc are not supported with the DVD Profiler online database?

With the software there has never been an implication that all DVD/HD-DVD/Blu-ray titles are in the online database--but if a title isn't there, a user can add it himself, scan the cover, etc., and submit it to the database for others to benefit.  I view earlier formats in much the same vein.

The suggestion in this thread is that each user is free to add old media to his own database, but not to share the scans and data with others.  Is it difficult for Invelos to allow those old media records to be shared?  I'm curious what the issues are.  I'd be happy to submit the LaserDisc version of Star Wars to the database (Han shot first).

The only thing I can come up with is that if a user was trying to add a title by name, there could be additional entries shown for VHS/LD/Beta releases, and this might lead to confusion.

It is against the current Rules for contributions that Invelos said we must follow.... in the What to Contribute Section

As to their reasoning... only Invelos can say for sure. But I for one would guess it is for two reasons...

1. They are basically dead formats
2. With every format added the database size could potentially double

But they did make sure you could add any format you like locally. As for sharing profiles... while it can't be done through the online database... they can still be shared. Just like on the forum we share things such as...

- Manual profiles (each movie for disc that has 2 or more movies on one side of the disc and such)
- Head shots
- Gallery Images
- Episode Guides
- Etc. etc. etc.

While it may not be ideal... it is more then possible.
