| Posted: | | | | I have tried several times to update my collection from my pc to my iphone/ipad, With earlier version of dvd profiler on my pc this worked perfectly, now with updating to 3.8.1, my iphone/ipad do not even succeed to make a connection. I get the message on my iphone/ipad can not make a connection. Trying to install a earlier version of dvd profiler does not work because my backup made only syncs with the latest version. Please help. |

| Posted: | | | | OK, let's try and get the systems to talk to each other. 1. Open DVDP on your host computer Go to Tools\Options\Sharing Check "Share my collection" and take note of the port number. Check the bottom of the DVDP window. It should now say something like: "Shared on 'My Pc' [192.160.0.5"], port 32847:0 connected" Note the IP address of your host 2. open your iPod/iPad app go to Databases\Update DVDs Check that the values in "Connect to DVD Profiler" match those above. If not, edit them. And try again | | | Chris | | | Last edited: by Mole |

| Posted: | | | | Thanx Mole but off course I tried that. But I managed to install the previous version of DVDP 3.8.0. And this works perfectly besides the startup that now gives an error, that can be ignored. DVDP 3.8.1 keeps unable to connect, maybe a bug that can hopefully be solved in a newer version of DVDP |

I'm running 3.8.1 under Win7 Pro (64 bit) with iOS 5.1.1 on both iPhone & iPad and have no problems connecting (it's syncing to the phone even as I type this). when you updated to 3.8.1 did you do a "clean install" or overwrite the existing 3.8.0. another thing to try would be a database repair with 3.8.1 | | | Chris |

There are no changes between 3.8.0 and 3.8.1 to the connection code. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

| Posted: | | | | I'm not sure what happened for me. I cannot update from iPhone or iPad.
Can't prove it was since the latest 3.8.1 either.
All I know is I get a check mark next to connect but nothing happens after that and it stops and asks if I want to retry.
I've deleted the program from my desktop and retried everything but till doesn't work.
I love the program and hope that an option to upload directly from the iPad or iPhone comes soon because the desktop is on its last legs and after it kicks, thats it.
Don't want to delete the apps because I doubt I can get the database back without the desktop program working.
I even turned off my firewall and reset the setting but still nothing. Also did a complete repair. | | | Last edited: by whotony |

| Posted: | | | | No I hadn't seen that before now so thanks. I'll give it a shot.
One other thing I notice is the ip address on the bottom of dvdp on the desktop.
It was almost always different each time I opened the program. No it is always the same one. |

| Posted: | | | | Having the same address is actually a good thing. The first step in Taro's guide is to assign a fixed IP.
The IP could be problematic if you are running Windows as a virtual machine. Let me know if that is the case. |
