Just tried creating a new database. When selecting the location, i pressed the left arrow on my keyboard, as this usually means "go up one directory." Unfortunately, when I pressed that, I got this:

I was unable to select anything in that form - when clicking the mouse, I just got the ding-sound, as when you're trying to do something that can't be done. The task list still showed DVDP to be running, but alt-tab did not show DVDP as an option to be selected. I had no other choice than killing DVDP from the task list.

This was with build 1542 on Win 7 Pro 64 bit.

Anyone else experience this?

Tried to reproduce this but ran into several "problems"

1) Arrow Left doesn't "usually" mean "go up one directory" (at least not in a Windows environment)
2) From your screenshot it's unclear where exactly you did this:
a) In the window which can be seen in the background of your screenshot (DB Selection)
In this case the "Arrow Left" has no function and doesn't result in a crash.
b) After pressing the "New database" button. Here I activated all possible fields and checked what happens when using "Arrow Left" on keyboard. Alas to no avail.

Could you please give a detailed instruction on how to reproduce this?
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Well, in Windows, whenever you're in a tree-structure, arrow left usually means "go up one level (and collapse the current level)". Arrow right usually means "Expand this entry and go to the first sub-level". This works in regedit, explorer (when activating the tree-structure on the left) and so on.

I selected "New Database" - clicked a directory, and pressed arrow left to move up, and that's when I got the crash.

Seems it was "just" a glitch, though - after restarting DVDP and trying again, it worked as expected.

Glad to hear that this is sorted out.

From your explanation I then finally understood how you made this happen.
Thanks again for the explanation.
