If I had a free DVD Profiler, and upgraded to Windows 10, but there was an error, and I had to clean install Windows, does that mean I have to say bye-bye to my collection and start all over again?

Do you have a backup file?  If not then your collection is likely long gone because of the clean install.

Unfortunately, a clean installation usually deletes all data on the system drive, so if there was no backup, restoring the collection can be difficult. Regularly create backups of important files. As for system activation, if you have any difficulties, use windows activator kms and with its help you activate Windows and Office without having to purchase official licenses.
