| Posted: | | | | If someone is credited with the same DVD Profiler crew job twice in one set of film credits, then how do we deal with that? Do we enter it twice, or do we leave the second one out?
Here's a specific example: in the end credits of 'Tootsie', Dorothy Pearl is first credited as "Mr. Hoffman's Make-Up Created and Designed By". That gets her a "Make-up Artist" credit. Then, further down the crawl, after, among others various other make-up artists and a costume supervisor, Dorothy Pearl is credited again, now for "Ms. Lange's Make-Up". That again would qualify for a "Make-up Artist" entry. So, do we enter it twice, or do we leave the second credit out? | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | I would treat is just as we treat a cast member that's credited twice. Two credits for each role, or in this case job.
On a related note, it's too bad that we can't add custom roles for cases such as this as it would really add context and important data. |

They are written " in a way that is unmistakeable and not open for multiple interpretations", exactly as you love them to be... "Take Crew Credits from the film credits only; list names exactly as they are in the credits."So twice in credits, twice in database... | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

| Posted: | | | | Probably against the rules, but I'd give her "make-up effects" for Hoffman credit, and standard "make-up artist" for the Lange, since Hoffman was transformed to a woman and Lange wasn't. |

| Posted: | | | | I agree with bigdaddyhorse for this instance. If they were credited twice for 2 different people, I would still credit them twice since they were credited twice and let the custom role speak for the difference. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

| Posted: | | | | In many cases, we have cast credited at the beginning of movies and then again at the end. We don't credit them twice.
If she is credited twice with the same crew job, what is the value of entering her twice in the database? | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

| Posted: | | | | I would add the two roles. Both are separate Make-up credits.
The occasions where I wouldn't credit someone twice are where they have exactly the same role credited twice. Such as Costume Designer or Make-up Effects appearing at the start of the closing credits and then also later on. It happens in a whole bunch of low-budget movies. | | | Last edited: by GreyHulk |

| Posted: | | | | I would enter her twice in my local database using custom roles and let someone else make the contribution.

For the record: my profile has had Dorothy Pearl credited as "Make-up Artist" twice for years, with her actual full credits in the custom role field. The reason I'm gauging opinions is because there's now a contribution from someone else up for voting, removing her second credit from the profile. |

| Posted: | | | | Why. Why on earth would you want to list her twice? Why on earth is THAT leading in the poll? Oh, right, this is DVD Profiler. ![](/images/emoticons/thumbdown.gif) | | | 99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1." |

| Posted: | | | | She's a make-up artist. Do we really care that she did the make-up for two different cast members? Most make-up artists do the make-up for multiple cast members. It's useless information. | | | Hal |
