| Posted: | | | | There are several films when a person plays both a real character and an animated one.
But we can only check the Voice box for the entire role field instead of a specific role. Thus making it look like both roles the person is credited with is Voice Only. |

| Posted: | | | | Maybe we could do as other films with more than one role and list the person twice...I know this does not follow the rules exactly, but it would solve this and give more meaning to the DB.

| Posted: | | | | If I understand CubbyUps correctly this relates to someone playing the same character both real and animated. So in that case it is not voice only, so I don't see why that Voice checkbox should be checked. Or am I missing something? | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | I think he's saying he plays the character "John Doe" (who is real) and the animated character "Doe John"...2 different characters. At least that's how I took it. Jump in here CubbyUps. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

And when said credits specify "John Doe as John Smith / Duck the Rabbit" then you only have one line for the contribution. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | Ken has said that it is not possible to write rules that cover every possible situation.
This is a very unusual situation, and there seems to be two possible ways to handle it; 1. Change the program the way CubbyUps suggests. 2. Change the rules, or barring that, bend the rules.
So, if a movie credit requires two Profiler credits in order to properly document it, then I would bend the rules and create two credits in Profiler, document the reason, and let the scanners decide if it is acceptable.
It is, of course, perfectly acceptable to ask for a program change to handle such situations, but in my opinion that's wishful thinking. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | Here is an example.
In the animated movie The LEGO Ninjago Movie plays two characters, and animated one and a real person.
Both roles are on one line as Master Wu/Mr. Liu (Voice).
Okay, going by just that credit, can you tell me, without watching the film, which role is the animated voice and which is the real person?
That's the problem.
Now either we could do as I suggest and have the ability to add the voice only to a certain role or perhaps change the rules that would allow the separation of roles in such situations. |

| Posted: | | | | This is such an unusual credit problem that I seriously doubt that Ken would change the program in order to deal with it. And based on what he has said about covering every unusual situation in the rules, it also seems unlikely that there will be a rule change. But who knows ...
If you're not willing to bend the rules, but instead stick with both roles on one line, then I would prefer to not have the Voice checkbox checked. To me it would be more important to know that the actor actually appeared in the movie than to know that he had a voice-only role. But that's just me. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users.
